Emmalise loves her life as a member of The Lotus Guild, and the one it allows her to lead. With no desire to settle down in any sense of the word, everything begins to change when she meets the handsome and gallant ship captain, Soren. She falls hard, against her better judgment, for someone who is entirely off-bounds, both personally and professionally. It’s hard to sell the idea of a Lotus being unobtainable if they choose love over money. Love over the power a Lotus has in society. Love over the influence The Lotus Guild wants them to hold across the galaxy. Still–joining in with Soren’s crew aboard The Opal feels right, and she finds herself thinking about breaking just about every rule she’s ever followed.
