My name is… but it doesn’t matter what my name is. I just don’t want to become one of Them. They swept across civilization like a cold, spreading slowly at first, then infecting whole families and towns. And the world stinks, like the wind has suddenly turned foul. When we were finally cut off from each other, all I could think of was my family and wonder if they were safe.
The first sign of infection shows in your eyes. Like tiny silver bugs trying to escape your body. And then it’s the end. An end to the isolation and fear, and an end to life.
So I’ll look for my family, and watch, and wait. Until I starve, or lose a fight, or become one of Them myself.
How do you know if you’re still alive? Will I know if I’m dead?
