2. The Return of the Lost Highlander – His past is hideous. The choices he must make are even worse.
When a shirtless Highlander, who looks more like a wild wolf than a civilized man, arrives at the doors of the Campbell estate, no one can believe that he is Dand Campbell, their long-lost leader. Dand left his home in his teen years, as he could not stand the tyranny of his mad uncle who had taken over.
Many people thought he was dead, but Dand has been trying to gather forces to overthrow his uncle. However, with the help of her new husband, his younger sister was able to remove the leech that had been draining the clan’s blood for years. bBut, now, new predators have begun cycling the clan, battling for the position of the leader.
Dand feels that everyone is hostile towards him, except for his beloved siblings and Maisie, a maid he begins to develop feelings for. Maisie is a simple lass, and even talking to a man as attractive and as powerful as Dand makes her blush. However, her considerate and generous character can charm any man even if she does not realize it. In a world of conflict and political games, Maisie can provide a bit of stability for Dand until her life turns upside down as well.
Her brother, who is a bandit and a wanted criminal, appears before her for the first time in years. Maisie would not even talk to him if he did not promise her the thing she wants the most; seeing their mother again! Her brother, just like everyone, wants to get close to Dand for his benefit, and if Maisie wants to meet her mother, she will have to help him.
Since Dand will be the new laird, Maisie knows that she can never marry him, but betraying him is not something she wants to do. Unfortunately, Dand has been lying about the years he has been away, and he also hides secrets! With danger lurking from every corner, the only thing that is for sure is that the two stand a chance to make it out alive only if they find a way to speak the truth to each other and work together.
3. Awaiting the Wolf Killer Highlander – He must take her to her destiny.
When a terrible illness hits her people and puts her older brother in bed, Sorcha Campbell is forced to become the lady of the Campbell clan. The lass is very responsible, and she is trying to control things, sometimes more than needed, but none of her efforts seem to be appreciated by the clan elders. Sorcha serves as a scapegoat in this tragedy, and to make things worse, her young sister gets terribly ill!
The only one who can help her is Malcolm, one of the best warriors of the clan who seems to be immune to the disease. The scary-looking Highlander will take the girl to a hidden healing place where she recovers, winning Sorcha’s trust. The lass is desperately trying to find a solution, even if everyone tells her that they are cursed and that only God can save them. And yet, Sorcha can not accept that their fate is entirely in the hands of God.
After a while, a woman shows up and explains to her that they are indeed cursed; Sorcha must rule the Dunscaith castle, the only place where a woman can rule, or she must find a husband to rule the Campbell castle. She has 17 days until the next full moon when she will not be able to lift the curse. The worst part? She must marry a man who is born “a King, a Warrior, and a Wolf Killer,” the lady says.
No man is born with all of those traits, so Sorcha thinks that she has no chance. However, Malcolm used to work for such a man; Laird Fraser has always been known as a fierce warrior, and he earned the nickname of “wolf-bane” when he slew a wolf as a young boy! His branch of nobility extends from the royal bloodline, so Sorcha and Malcolm will begin on a journey to find the man who they believe can save the clan.
On their journey, they will find that those they thought as friends might not mean well, and they will also find unexpected allies. As the two companions travel together, they will begin to develop feelings for each other, but they both know they could never be a couple. However, when they get into deadly danger, the least Malcolm feels he can do, is risk his life to save the lass, who is not only the lady of his clan but who has also captured his heart…
4. Highlander’s False Betrothal – She is jealous of a man who is not hers.
Caroline Lloyd is the English daughter of Lord Lloyd, a sworn enemy of the Campbell Clan. All she has heard about the Campbells so far is that they are brute Highlanders and even more uncivilized than the rest of the Scottish, creating a constant problem for her father. However, as they gain power, the war against them becomes more and more costly, and there is only one solution; a marriage between Caroline and the clan’s leader, Laird Aodh Campbell.
The lass has always dreamed of marrying an English Lord, and having a Highland savage as her husband, seems to Caroline like she is sacrificing her life for her people. Indeed, as soon as she meets Aodh Campbell, all her suspicions are confirmed. Aodh looks nothing like a nobleman, and even though he is quite young and built like a warrior, his lack of manners will make living with him a nightmare.
The only good news is that the Laird seems to hate her as much as she hates him. After talking with him a bit more, she realizes that Aodh is unwilling to marry her, but at the same time, he wants the best for his people. The solution they come up with might be unlawful and dangerous, but they are both willing to take the risk; the two conspirators agree to fake their betrothal and wedding until the war between their people ends!
After their marriage, Caroline begins to see that Aodh is a lot more than the savage she had in mind, and the love he shows to his people moves her. However, an awful surprise awaits her as Caroline learns that Aodh was already betrothed to a Scottish lass! Their plan will go on, but the Laird still meets with his old betrothed, making Caroline feel miserable, and since this is a marriage of convenience, she can not complain to him at all…
Unfortunately, the secret of the false marriage will not remain hidden for long, and it is the perfect weapon in the hands of those who seek to destroy the couple. Now the two enemies must work together to undo the harm they created, but there is one burning question; after lying to everyone, how can they trust each other?
5. Reclaiming Her Highland Home – Nothing can break a woman who has already been hurt.
A marriage and a family might be able to give meaning to the life of most lasses but that is not the case for Freya Campbell. She has been disappointed by love and feels that she is cursed. Every time she tries to be intimate with a man, it appears that he approaches her because he needs something from her or, even worse, to hurt her… However, her heart seems unable to follow what her mind dictates, and once again, she makes dreams about a certain Highlander.
Craig Laing is a warrior and the Laird of a small clan. As soon as Freya lays eyes on him, it is clear that she must avoid him. His devilish looks could tempt any woman, and Freya knows that since she has been hurt so much, she can not risk falling into the trap of loving such a man. However, Craig seems to be different. He teaches her how to use a bow and arrow better and seems to like her genuinely, but Freya has promised herself not to love again.
Unfortunately, her older brother notices that the two are doing well together and sees incredible potential in their union; Craig’s estate is right next to Dunscaith castle, the old home of the Campbell family. Reclaiming it has been the goal of the Campbells for half a century now and an opportunity like this might never arise again. However, Freya does not want to marry and sacrifice her life so that her clan can get revenge.
Yet, when Freya sees how horribly the clan that occupies the Dunscaith castle treats the poor farmers around the castle, she realizes that this is not simply a game of power. The Campbells must take Dunscaith castle back so that they can save the people of the area from the horrible conquerors who have devastated the lands and brought famine. Once again, Freya decides to be brave and try her luck; for the greater good, she will marry Craig!
Unfortunately, she realizes that what she thought about him is not true, and now she is in a foreign place next to her worse enemy, trapped in a marriage with a man she barely knows. The lass must try to survive in a hostile situation and in an estate in which every corner lurks a new danger… Now, Freya has very little time to discover Craig’s motives and unlock his mysterious heart so that she and her clan are not wiped out from history forever.
