The Last Great Hero series by Scott J. Robinson (#2-3)
Requirements: .ePUB Reader, 645 KB
Overview: Scott Robinson grew up in a small country town (population 400) in Australia where the only fun to be had was the fun you made for yourself. Robinson’s fun usually involved writing about strange worlds that were populated with brave heroes and dastardly villains. Most of the fun never got past the first few chapters. Now in a different small county town, Robinson lives with his wife and three children and finishes what he writes. There are still strange worlds. And there are still heroes and villains, though sometimes it can be hard to tell which is which.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy
2. A History of Magic
Katamood is the center of the world once more.
Magical creatures are crossing from other worlds and Rawk is hunting them through the streets of the city, like the good old days. But Rawk, the last of the great Heroes, can’t keep up. Even with Heroes returning to the city to help and claim their rewards, innocent people are dying every day.
But when Prince Weaver decides that sorcerers are opening portals to let the creatures through, Rawk and Silver Lark– healer, sorcerer, arch-nemesis from the past– find themselves in a race against time to find those responsible. If the prince had his way every sorcerer in the city would be locked up, but Rawk can’t let that happen because he knows only too well how hard it is to find a good healer.
Add an actual grown-up relationship plus a new business venture into the mix and Rawk is busier in retirement than he has ever been.
3. An Army of Heroes
Rawk, the last of the great Heroes, retired months ago but he’s never had the chance to put his feet up and relax. Dwarves are rioting in the south of the city, creatures keep coming through the magical portals and Prince Weaver is still going on about the good old days.
But Rawk knows the good old days are gone; all that is left is the search for the sorcerers who are opening the portals. He and Silver Lark continue their search, through back alleys of Katamood and the pages of ancient books, as the city falls apart around them.
