Anna did not answer but turned around and hid her face in his shoulder.
“Why does everyone have to die?” she cried into his chest.
Wulfric stood frozen for a moment, then he loosely put his arms around her. He had no idea how to comfort her and simply stood there, patting her back gently while she cried. He liked the feeling of her in his arms though; he could not remember how many times he had dreamed of it.
Wulfric Rosenkranz has been in love with Anna Harold since he was a teenager. She on the other hand only ever had eyes for the king’s brother, Valdemar, whom she married. Since she was widowed two years ago Anna have been living in a convent trying to come to terms with Valdemar’s death.
