The Knockout series by Dan Sugralinov, Max Lagno (#1-2)
Requirements: .ePUB Reader, 985 KB
Overview: Dan Sugralinov grew up in a small working-class town Aktobe on the Russian border with Kazakhstan. It’s a miracle he survived his childhood games of hide-and-seek in the surrounding building sites complete with perilous rebar structures and flooded foundation pits.

Max Lagno was born in the city of Alma-Ata (now Almaty), Kazakhstan, where he graduated from the local art college as easel painter. Max has been writing for as long as he could remember but he never showed his work to anyone until the age of 30 nor did he upload his stories to the Internet. His first two novels were regular mainstream fiction. It took Max some time to reinvent himself and his art in order to return to his roots: action-packed science fiction adventure.
Genre: Sci-fi/Fantasy | LitRPG

1. Level Up: The Knockout
If you have read the original Level Up series, we would like to warn you at once: the book has another protagonist, although the setting is the same. The chronology of the events described in this book is the same as that of the first two books in the Level Up series (Restart and Hero).

Mike Hagen, an American nicknamed "Crybaby," became one of those chosen to be given an augmented reality interface. However, his favorite game was an MMA fighter—possibly, for the reason that he’d never fought in real life, and the interface adapted itself to him. Will Hagen be able to use it right? And will it help him to crawl out of the dreary pit of his existence?

2. Level Up: Update
Having lost the Trial, Hagen didn’t just lose his interface and his memory of it, but also everything he’d achieved. His UFC career was ruined before it even began. Stripped of all his skills and abilities, Mike is once again a useless weakling. The last straw is the loss of all the money that he’d bet on his own victory. But you do remember, don’t you, that Phil Panfilov promised to take care of his old comrade from Pibellau?

What can Mike achieve with a non-combat version of Phil’s augmented reality interface? He could, of course, become a businessman or found a gaming startup, but where would he find the money and investors he needs?

It looks like he might have to start fighting again. However, this time there’re no prison guards to maintain order and make sure that rules are obeyed. Once out of prison, Hagen is fair game for anyone who wants to kill him. Once again he has to survive on his own.
