I’m surviving, yet I’m not sure I’m living. I was broken one too many times to even dream of having a peaceful life. One where I don’t have to perpetually fight painful memories and dark thoughts. A life where I’m laughing at home and a tough act to follow at work. I’m floating, but I’m not sure I’ll ever reach the shore. I’m breathing and suffocating at the same time.
I chose to become a lawyer because I thought that saving others might help me save myself. I thought wrong.
