Overview: In 1974, artist Barry Windsor-Smith, who had become a young superstar in the comic book field with his ground-breaking work on Conan the Barbarian and other titles, abruptly left comics to explore a burgeoning passion for creating single pictures. He founded his own fine art publishing company, Gorblimey Press, to produce and sell limited edition prints of his drawings and paintings.
In 1976 Windsor-Smith published the the Gorblimey Press Catalogue to document the works he created and published during the previous three years. The titles presented include the now classics: The Sepia Horseman, The Four Ages, The Ram and the Peacock, Pandora, The Enchantment, Shelf Stuff, The Devil’s Lake and others. Each work is presented on a single page in black and white halftone on a fieldgreen background. Each piece is annotated with production and publishing details.
