Overview: In the Eridani star system, on a moon called Kepler, humanity lives, without any knowledge that it wasn’t their original birthplace. Most of their technology, culture and history burned down two millennia back, in the horrific Great Impact – an extinction-level event that culminated from rampant gene editing of the entire human race.
The terrified survivors formed the Genome Accord, proclaiming: “The human genome will not be edited, save for the purpose of healthcare” and a special police unit named ‘Bellwatch’ was formed to enforce it.
Today, when officer Lisa Brown, team leader of a Bellwatch unit, responds to a hostage situation inside a restaurant, she finds an erratic young man, injured and armed. At first glance, he seems to be suffering from a psychotic episode, likely induced by substance abuse, but the more Lisa investigates, the more she suspects there’s something much worse going on. Her persistence to save him and discover the cause of his breakdown, lead her to stumble into a callous conspiracy, that may again alter the course of human evolution and culminate in another Great Impact.
