Overview: Colton Shaw’s life post-Marines has been a disaster, and it’s about to get worse. After stopping an armed robbery (admittedly with a little too much force) he finds himself in trouble with the law… and his only way out is to take a job as a bodyguard for Empress Ilina Syampi. Much to his surprise, her empire isn’t from ’round these parts… she’s the head of the Boundless Galactic Empire. As in… outer space.
Colton is used to thinking on his feet, but when he finds himself on an alien planet with some very dangerous enemies already causing trouble, he realizes his learning curve is going to be seriously steep. It doesn’t help that he’s developed a bit of a short fuse since leaving the Marines, or a razor-sharp sense of humor. Those are the kinds of things that make bad situations worse. And even better, he doesn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with Empress Ilina. But at least she’s easy on the eyes, right?
What starts off as an impossible mission quickly gets worse, and Colton must rely on his wits, his grit, and his bada** blasters to save the day. It won’t be pretty, but it will be glorious.
