Overview: Jennifer Haskin is passionate about helping new authors with their writing journey, as well as achieving their publishing goals. Eight years ago, she learned the ropes of the publishing world as a literary agent for a boutique agency before moving to a New York-based agency (then had to drop out for a string of back surgeries), then she returned as a publishing consultant, helping authors ready their submission materials to get the best shot at the contract of their dreams, and now she works as a professional Reedsy editor, Associate Editor for a small press, and head editor of her own business.
Jennifer debuted as a traditionally published author, but she prefers the control of indie publishing. She markets her YA scifi/fantasy/romance fiction novels and non-fiction series "The Journey to a Bestseller" and is always writing a new series. Her website features a blog that’s been called "a hidden gold mine of information" for new authors that documents some of her own writing journey with weekly advice on writing, editing, publishing, and marketing. She’s been on all sides of the publishing business. She runs a weekly writers’ workshop and is honored to be a judge for the annual writing contest Ink & Insights.

Hierarchy of Blood (#1)
The winner will be crowned Ambassador’s Bride. The losers will meet certain death.
When you’re living inside a dwarf planet in the cold abyss of space, life is only easy if you’re rich. 17-year-old Marishel Vance works as a seamstress – but when she’s selected to compete in a brutal contest for the Ambassador’s hand in marriage, she’s quickly catapulted into a life-threatening struggle.
Marishel hates the idea of fighting for some stuck-up rich guy – no matter how handsome he is. But after her attempts are thwarted, she becomes desperate to find a way to end the Blood Match and save the lives of the girls she’s training with. The key could lie in Ambassador Quin himself … but as she tries to win his friendship, her growing feelings for him only complicate the matter.
As the Blood Match looms closer, Marishel spirals deeper into a world of intrigue, danger, punishment, and secrets. Trusting the wrong people will get her killed before the Match. If Marishel wants to save herself – and the other fifty-nine girls sentenced to death – she’ll have to break every rule in the book to do it…
Hierarchy of Crows (#2)
He is an angsty, controlling king who’s oppressing his people. She’s a normal girl who lives to help the underdogs. Fate thrusts them together to join forces permanently, but she knows his secrets will kill her family if she doesn’t stop him.
The people of Haumea want to make peace with the futuristic colony living inside Eris, so Marishel and Quin travel to the mined-out dwarf planet, intending to sign a peace treaty and find a cure for the sickness killing their citizens.
Marishel first notices the subjugated people called Synths. She feels in her bones that King Binary is hiding something dangerous and plays a clandestine teen detective, but the Synths remain a mystery. Marishel suspects the Erisians of foul play, and if she can prove it, she can stop the treaty, but she finds more questions than answers.
Marishel’s relationship with Ambassador Quin has grown but on this trip, Quin’s main goal is the treaty, and he doesn’t see a hidden crime. However, he is happy to let Marishel bravely look for a secret he doesn’t think is there … until Marishel’s thrilling adventures risk their tenuous bond with the unstable king and threaten herself and him, the treaty, and the Haumeans back home.
