Overview: Tallulah has always known to be the wrong kind of special. She’s resolved herself to keep her head down, and stay away from others to avoid drawing attention to herself and her talents. Until she finds her great aunt’s letter mentioning a place for women like her. Women whose gardens grow overnight and weeds rot within hours. Women with foes who suddenly stop gossiping because they can no longer speak and friends who come about unexpected wealth. Women whose lives are altered every day by their desires and aren’t so good at hiding it.
For their own safety and that of others, they may sojourn at the Purple Orchid, a finishing school for not so good girls, and learn how to live a life without extraordinary incidents. Unless of course they’d rather choose the other curriculum, move to the east wing and study how to harness their gifts for their own benefit.
As Tallulah begins to find her place at the Purple Orchid, the thought of belonging somewhere begins to feel like a real possibility. But rumors about the school and what women are really learning brings a threat knocking at their door.
