The Fairy Files Omnibus by Katharine Sadler (#1-#6)
Requirements: Epub reader, 1.70 Mb
Overview: Katharine Sadler lives with her husband in North Carolina. She’s been writing since she was ten and has wanted to be a writer even longer. When she’s not writing or otherwise gainfully occupied, she reads like it’s an addiction, exercises, skis whenever she gets the chance, and adds more books to her Amazon wish list.
Genre: Fantasy
1. Fairy on the Rocks
Mix them well and let them chill for an hour in a fae dimension known as Rubalia. Watch the sparks fly as the fairy and the werewolf discover more than they’d ever bargained for in their search for a troll who just might not want to be found.
Chloe Frangipani doesn’t believe in fairy tales or happily ever afters, but she’s pretty darn near happy as the owner and manager of Ephemeral, a martini bar that offers good drinks, great music, and a wait staff that’s not only easy on the eyes but ready and willing to serve up the fantasies of their patrons. At the apartment she shares with her best friend, she is well on her way to amassing the world’s largest collection of kitsch and she goes out dancing three nights a week rather than joining a gym. Life really couldn’t get much better. When her friend and mentor, Buddy, goes missing, leaving behind his pregnant wife, Chloe knows she has to find him and bring him home safe. She enlists the help of a private investigator, Frost, a werewolf she shared a dance and a kiss with the night before. As cocky as he is handsome, Chloe would rather work with anyone else, but he’s her best option. Together, they search for Buddy in the human world and in Rubalia, a search that endangers both Chloe and Frost and will change their lives forever.
2. Pink Princess Fairytini
Take one fairy princess, set her up in an expensive, penthouse condo she doesn’t want, and then threaten her livelihood. Shake and strain, and pour into an inner-city neighborhood from which fae kids have been disappearing.
Chloe Frangipani is annoyed. One of her employees fell for the wrong woman and now her night club, her baby, is being threatened by the mayor of Sarsaparilla. Her mother is insisting she move to a swankier zip code, and live like a princess. And she’s decided to give dating a try, but is quickly discovering she doesn’t have a clue what it means to be a good girlfriend. It’s almost a relief when Frost calls and asks her to help him on a case, until she finds out he’s investigating missing fae children. She’ll do whatever it takes to find the kids, but this isn’t a simple case of teens running away from bad home situations, and the very future of the fairy and human realm may be at stake.
3. Fairy with a Twist
Chloe Frangipani is floundering in her new job as the gatekeeper for fae immigrating from Rubalia to the Non. She doesn’t have the connections or the finances her predecessor had and she’s still trying to save her struggling martini bar from financial collapse. Just when she is sure she can’t take any more, a succubus meal is murdered and Frost asks her to help.
The murder is just the first of many in the succubus community, and Chloe has to find the time and the desire to help a group of people she has little reason to like. As it turns out, there’s nothing simple about the motive driving the murders and solving the case may destroy what little peace the fae have managed to find in the Non.
And Frost is destroying whatever peace Chloe is able to establish for herself by pushing her boundaries and forcing her to confront what she feels for him. She’s never believed in romance and Frost has a mate, but their relationship is about to change in ways she never expected and isn’t sure she’s ready for.
4. Wild Fairy Moonshine
Meeting potential future in-laws is never easy, and living with them can be downright dangerous, especially when said in-laws can sprout fangs and claws. When Frost’s mother asks him to return to the pack to prove that his ex is innocent of murder, Chloe can’t let him go alone. She’s his partner, and a damn good one, even if she’s not sure she can be the mate he needs.
There’s nothing ordinary about this case, and Frost’s pack and its problems may be more than their fledgling relationship can handle. Romance becomes the least of their worries, when they’re hit by threats from outside the pack. Too many people know they aren’t human, and some of those people want them out of the Non for good.
5. Bloody Fairy
All play and no work makes Chloe a very grumpy fairy, a fairy who’s ready to do just about anything to regain control of her club and of her life. Chloe doesn’t make deals with the devil, or the empress of the nightmare realm, and her poker face leaves so, so much to be desired. But the alternative to conceding to the empress’ demands is to let the nightmares move into the Non unhindered. So she tries on a role she couldn’t be less suited for: amenable hostess.
When playing nice no longer works, she and Frost and all of their friends are going to have to work together to save the Non from destruction. What they will have to first figure out, though, is how to fight creatures who have no emotions and appear to be indestructible. And the losses they face may destroy all their hopes for future happiness or safety.
6. Fairy, Neat
The nightmares have been pushed out of the Non, but they’re destroying Rubalia. Chloe and her friends don’t have enough fae on their side to combat the thousands of nightmares in Rubalia, so they plan a sneak attack. In order to surprise the nightmare empress, they’ll have to journey across Rubalia, encountering friendly and less than friendly fae along the way. And, when they finally get to fairy palace where Ludwiggia sits on the throne, they may find themselves seriously overpowered. How much is Chloe willing to sacrifice to save the people of Rubalia? Will it be enough?
