Overview: The Duke of Totham is unhappily married to a mean-spirited and controlling woman. Meanwhile, the Dowager Marchioness of Longford, a widow, is grieving over the loss of her beloved husband.
When the Duke and Marchioness meet for the first time at a ball, they are instantly attracted to each other. They arrange to meet again. And again. And since they enjoy each other’s company so much, soon their romance blossoms into an affair. Life is good for both of them, at last.
However, after a while, the Marchioness wants more. She no longer wants to be the ‘other’ woman – or even a widow. She wants the Duke to marry her so they can live together happily ever after. She insists the Duke has to decide whether to follow his head or his heart.
