Requirements: ePUB Reader, 398 kb
Overview: Norbert Davis (1909-1949) was an American pulp detective fiction writer. Davis began writing in the 1930s after completing law school. He published numerous short stories in several popular pulp magazines, including ARGOSY, DIME DETECTIVE, DOUBLE DETECTIVE, and DETECTIVE FICTION WEEKLY. In the 1940s, he published several successful ‘Doan and Carstairs’ novels as well as many Max Latin stories. He died in 1949 of an apparent suicide.
THE DOAN AND CARSTAIRS MYSTERIES are snappy, hard-boiled stories featuring Doan–a short, chubby little detective–and his Great Dane, Carstairs. Carstairs is so big that Doan only half-jokingly figures he really ought to be considered another species… and despite Doan’s best efforts the dog is definitely the boss. This collection includes four complete novels and novellas featuring the unlikely duo.
