Overview: An ancient prophecy foretells that when Britain’s darkest hour looms, her greatest hero will return …
May 1940. World War II is raging across Europe. Having already defeated Poland, Luxembourg and Denmark, the Germans prepare to crush the British Amy near Dunkirk. France and Belgium are about to fall, and the Nazis could be ready to invade Britain before the year’s end.
While this nightmare is unfolding on the European mainland, a man dressed in homespun linen appears near an ancient burial mound in northern England. He claims to have defeated German invaders long ago.
Such a man must surely be either a lunatic or a fraud – yet everything about him, from his archaic dialect of Latin to his battle scars, indicate that he comes from the distant past.
Could the prophecy be true? Could this man really be King Arthur, here to deliver Britain the miracle it needs?
But even if Arthur has returned, how could a single Dark Age warrior save them from the mechanised Nazi war machine?
