With the help of a new friend, the group draws ever closer to Emerald Deep, their last stop before fleeing the empire for good. As Tiernan and his men close in, more dangers come to light. The world itself comes under attack and a new evil rears its ugly head. With the help of his friends, Dusk heads back to the mines where his journey began long ago. They have little chance of surviving, but with the fate of the world at stake, they have to try.
