The series is basically a metaphor for human civilization and the people’s struggle to maintain their freedoms and liberties from those who wish to control the people and make them a slave in one form or that of another. (It’s why technology and venturing out into space won’t save us.) That what we see around us is, not only the way that it always was (Think George Orwell.), but the way that it always will be. (Think Police State & Surveillance State.). That nothing will change until something change within the human heart and soul. Until that day, any century has a certain element of an Orwellian present to it. An element that lies somewhere under the surface for all to see, but at the same time it could be all consuming Consuming all in its dark desires of making slaves of us all. But it we rally then maybe we could somehow stop it. History, however, is less concern about our feelings, our freedoms, and our liberties. And thus… some new horror awaits us. Some newer way of doing away with all that we care about.
