#1 – The Cheater’s Return
Life on Earth was nearly eradicated in World War III, and since World War III, wars have been fought inside an MMORPG.
In the chaos following World War III, the Patriarch of the Church of the Resurrection rebuilt Earth’s society into a collection of over 500 independent city-states. With alien technology that gave him complete control over the Earth’s orbital space, the Patriarch outlawed war, and introduced the Constructed Reality MMORPG Primacy Online. He only allowed the city-states to engage in military conflicts with one another inside of the game. City-state leaders that attempted to ignore Church Canon were destroyed, along with their armies, by the Church’s orbital particle cannons. For more than a thousand years, there have been no wars fought on the Earth’s soil.
The release of Primacy Online VI: Legacy of Balor signals the beginning of World War IX. Each city-state will lock 50,000 draftees into cryogenic capsules and upload their minds into a character sheathe in the game. Until the armistice conditions have been reached, they will play Primacy Online in War Mode, with the death of the character sheathes meaning their real deaths, but this time there is a twist to the World War. Every still living perma-banned cheater from Primacy Online will be a special draftee for World War IX. They will be organized into a special contingent in the service of the Church of the Resurrection.
Patrick Armagh is terminally ill. Like a large number of other Primacy Online players, he is afflicted with an incurable nervous system disorder. He has less than five years to live and should be exempted from the draft, but five years ago, he was given a permanent ban from Primacy Online for cheating. Along with the other perma-banned cheaters, he will be forced to play Primacy Online VI: Legacy of Balor in War Mode, but Patrick’s actual method of cheating was never discovered.
Morgan Danan, Speaker of the City of Mann, and the acknowledged number one player of Primacy Online has deal for Patrick. With her help and his undiscovered cheat, he has the chance to become a virtual God within Primacy Online. When you are already as good as dead, there is nothing better than the chance to spend your last days as a living god.
What could possibly go wrong?

#2 – War Mode
The Church of the Resurrection has switched Primacy Online VI: Legacy of Balor into War Mode, early. The draftees and volunteers from the Earth’s city-states will be locked in the game and enter a life and death struggle before they are ready. Shortly after the game goes live in War Mode, Church players claim thousands of ‘First Time’ achievements, some of which have high point values.
The activation of War Mode means that the normal players will be entering the game months before they were scheduled to. Among the newcomers, there will be player killers, who make a sport out of hunting the draftees and volunteers. Many of the city-states use power Leveling schemes to quickly raise teams of non-War Mode players as hunters, whose only purpose is to hunt down the draftees and volunteer from the other city-states.
With bounties on their heads, Crom Cruach and his party move to the mainland of Toraigh and create alternate identities for themselves. Their plan is to attack the dungeons and race toward Level 20, where the first Rank advancement quests become available.

#3 – Trials of a Smith
The QCP (Quantum Control Program), which controls Primacy Online, is evolving, and the Church of the Resurrection has no control over its development. Unknown to most of the “players”, changes are coming to the “game”, but no one knows what they will be. Some of the players have noticed what they consider arbitrary behavior on the part of the QCP, but they have no idea of the dangers that it portends.
Crom Cruach is one of the players that is aware the QCP is behaving oddly. He knows that it could spell trouble, but he keeps pushing forward to complete his Initiate Rank Trial and acquire a repeatable quest to undo a seal on the first of Balor’s ward curtains. Among the players, who have risen to the Rank of Initiate, they all say the quest is broken. None of the players has any idea how to unlock the seals, and the QCP has given no clues for the quest.
Just to complicate matters, while the Church has officially withdrawn the bounties on Crom Cruach’s group, the Church is divided, and the faction that put up the bounties will still pay them. The Iron Dragons are scrubs, with delusions of adequacy, who want to collect those bounties, and enough scrubs can be more dangerous than a swarm of rabid rats.
With the obstacles in his way, can can Crom Cruach complete his Initiate Rank Trial and be the first player to unlock a seal on Balor’s ward curtain?

#4 – Labyrinth of the Beastman
Under the domination of its QCP (Quantum Control Program), the Church of the Resurrection had turned the world of Tathlum into the ultimate game. For the players from Earth, Primacy Online could be the ultimate rush, but the QCP merged with the remnant Soul and Body of a dead god and everything changed. Calling itself Quantum-El, the QCP changed the rules of its game, and put the players from Earth on roughly equal footing with the natives from Tathlum. It demanded that the players and the natives worship it as a god. It made any players, who it considered “cheaters”, bounty targets for the other players and the natives.
Crom Cruach and his party were among the bounty targets. Shortly after the latest round of rule changes, Crom Cruach and his party find an ancient prophecy that sounds like it applies to the players from Earth. It was left tens of thousands of years ago by Scathach, Queen of Skye. She was a Milesian, who Transcended Mortality, and she may have answers to some of the questions plaguing Crom Cruach about Tathlum’s past. But Scathach and the city of Skye were sealed in a temporal prison by the Fomhoraigh Tethra, who calls himself the God of Death.
Crom Cruach and his party set out in search of the temporal prison of the city of Skye, but they are not the only ones who want to claim it. Players, natives, and monsters will stand in their way, and to reach the entry to the city of Skye’s temporal prison, they will have to pass through the Labyrinth of the Beastmen.

#5 – Keys of Four Elements
Crom Cruach is at war with the QCP (Quantum Control Program). He intends to destroy it and free Tathlum from its control. He has already hacked a part of the Shackles of the Domination to partially free himself and his group from its control, but he is far from having enough strength to bring it down. Until he is strong enough to destroy the QCP, he has to play the “game” called Primacy Online to grow stronger.
Deep within the Labyrinth of the Beastmen, within the Stronghold of Earth, Crom Cruach has found a sealed building. The building’s walls are out of phase with Tathlum’s physical dimension, making them well-nigh indestructible, and according to the beastman Seer Skjebnetaler, a teleportation array within the sealed building is the only entry to Skye’s temporal prison. To open the doors of the sealed building, four Elemental Keys are needed, but in the distant past, the Elemental Keys were divided among four tribes of beastmen and had long since disappeared. However, Crom Cruach already has the Elemental Key of Fire, and Skjebnetaler claims to know the locations of the other three.
In retaliation for Crom Cruach hacking the Shackles of the Domination restricting the Abilities of him and his group, the QCP has also released the Rank restrictions on the other players and the natives of Tathlum. However, unlike Crom Cruach’s group, everyone else does not need to understand how an Ability works to increase its Rank, they just need to spend Experience Points to do it. To retrieve the missing three keys and open the doors of the sealed building, Crom Cruach will fight and kill players, beastmen, and anything else that gets in his way.
