Book 1 : Torrents
At Westcoast University, there is a global science exposition with the finals held in Russia.
The competition occurs around the time where there is a nuclear war in some countries outside America.
Students are asked to volunteer and afterwards top students are selected after die examination to represent the school of which (the key characters) Richard and Beverley are part with Professor Khan as the coordinator of the team of four alongside friendly professor Robert. They go through a brain storming phase on the most brilliant and relevant idea for the period.
After much trial and error, the team comes up with a lasting formula for the chemical-resistant fabric. Teams from other universities and countries also come up with exciting expositions.
Then they go ahead with the registration for the competition. Preparation goes on towards the three-phase competition.
A week to the competition, the prototype is blown up by a complex chemical compound as Richard and Beverley try to execute their separate finishing ideas on the fabric. Others are so mad at them.
Will the competition still go as smoothly as planned?
Book 2: Spark
Richard again says Beverley is the reason why they took the fifth position due to her conduct during the presentation. This gets Beverley furious and she threatens to back out of the competition.
Beverley is a very valued member of the team whose exit might mean a forfeiture of the chances of the team toake it to the final stage.
Is Beverley really leaving the team? Will she allow her emotions get the best of her and make the team lose?
Book 3: Time and Chase
Beverley is very firm young woman who will most times not change her decisions after she’s decided to take a step. However, her decision to back out is changed by the influence of the Prof. Robert.
The second phase is an intra-continental competition where the team competes with other finalists from the just concluded stage.
Although Beverley is still cross with Richard, she bottles in her emotions and the team makes improvements on their flaws during the first stage.
At the second stage of the competition, it turns out that their preparation would have been more intense. Hope is lost on the possibility getting to the next stage. Prof. Robert tries to comfort the team and prepare their minds for whatever comes out of the results.
They find a little book on the floor of the lab. The book contains some weird formulas. The four decide to try them out in the lab subsequently.
Still on the competition, the judges are meant to choose the top two teams per continent for the last stage.
There’s so much tension as the team doesn’t think they’ll qualify for the final round.
Will their team make it to the final round?
Book 4: Magnets
There’s so much pain at the closeness of victory. The last phase is to hold exactly a month after the announcement of results.
But they don’t allow this get to them. They go on with their newly found adventure to experiment the formulas_. The thrilling nature of the experiments draw Beverley and Richard closer due to their similar interests in wanting to try out new things. Their ICT geek co-team member also helps out with the very technical aspects of the experiments.
Some unfinished business crops up again after a week as the team is informed that they will be presenting at the final round.
Book 5: Reflection
The top three schools are announced as winners in the global competition. West coast university is among the top three.
