Overview: “Another day!” thought Mia to herself. Lying there staring at the ceiling, she could hear the daily movement of her husband Kyle, creeping along the corridor, getting everything ready for the daily routine of looking after her. His every movement was given away by the creaking of the floorboards in their colonial style bungalow. The occasional “Goddamit!” could be heard being muttered under his breath as he dropped the milk from the fridge while preparing the breakfast. Hearing that would normally bring a smirk to someone’s face but Mia could only chuckle to herself on the inside.
Mia is a quadriplegic who cannot speak. She is lovingly looked after by her husband Kyle who diligently takes her for treatment under Dr. Cooper, at a distinguished clinic named The Arena, in Washington DC. Although she cannot speak nor move, her mind is still sharp.
Laura died in a horrific accident. Her husband, Hank, has lived with this for the last two years. Both Hank and Laura worked for the National Security Agency. Hank struggled to continue working for them after his loss so transferred to the FBI.
A number of murders take place around the New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. Hank has been called in to help investigate. The murders appear to be professional ‘hits’. Is this the work of a highly trained assassin? Are there sinister government security departments involved?
During the investigation Hank becomes convinced his wife is still alive. How can this possibly be?
