Overview:TechSmith Camtasia Studio is a new version of the program for recording screen images to video files of various formats, there is the ability to edit video, it has Macromedia Flash (SWF) and built-in video players. The utility captures actions and sounds anywhere on Windows systems and saves them to an AVI file. Videos created with the program can be exported to one of the formats supported by the program: AVI, SWF, FLV, MOV, WMV, RM, GIF, CAMV.

Camtasia Studio allows you to apply a variety of effects, can work with individual frames, and makes it easy to record, edit, and publish high-fidelity compressed videos for training, education, distance learning, help desk solutions, product demonstrations, and sales presentations. . , and more.

• The video created with the program can be exported to one of the formats supported by the program: AVI, SWF, FLV, MOV, WMV, RM, GIF, CAMV. Additionally, from any video, an executable exe file can be compiled, which will contain an integrated player.
• Camtasia Studio lets you apply a variety of effects, can work with individual frames, and makes it easy to record, edit, and publish high-fidelity compressed videos for training, education, distance learning, help desk solutions, product demonstrations, and sales. presentations and more.
• To compress video, Camtasia Studio developers offer users to use their "proprietary" TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (TSCC). This codec shows good results when encoding images with any color depth. Its algorithm minimally loads the system, so the codec can be used for encoding even at very weak settings.
• Camtasia Studio includes four utilities: Camtasia MenuMaker, Camtasia Player, Camtasia Theater and Camtasia Recorder. The main interface of the program is used to work with all these utilities.
• The scope of Camtasia Studio can be very different. According to the developers, the program can be useful in at least fifty different situations. It can be used to create interactive help files, demonstrate new program features, record demo videos of computer applications and games, etc.

Key Features:
• Accurately record what happens on your screen, including webcam recording, audio, system sounds, etc.
• Add many visual effects
• Preview what was recorded
• Add, cut, join and split video clips
• Add and edit audio
• Add expressiveness
• Versatile publishing functions
• Save finished video in AVI, SWF, FLV, MOV, WMV, RM, GIF and CAMV formats

What’s new in version 2023 23.4
Updates Features
·Increased the size of the webcam in the default Editor layout when importing a .trec file.
·Projects imported from Rev will not automatically have a background applied if the screen recording or camera recording fills the entire canvas, unless Background Removal has been applied.
·Added tooltip to Camtasia Rev that shows details about Rev backgrounds.
·Batch exporter now accepts MP4 and TREC files as source media for batch export.
· Option added to Preferences: Automatically delete older proxy files when file size exceeds a threshold.
·Source media that are detected as being located in cloud-backed storage locations are now proxied by default. This behavior can be disabled in the Preferences menu.
·Camtasia will now warn the user when the temporary storage location is set to cloud-backed storage, which is not recommended.
·It is now possible to drag and drop projects and/or media into the Batch Export dialog.
·Batch Exporter now supports "Create multiple files from bookmarks".
·Improved the appearance of the Record button in Camtasia Home.
·Added a Camtasia Rev layout that mimics legacy Camtasia backgroundless behavior.
Performance improvements
·Various performance improvements.

Bug Fixes
·Fixed a crash that could occur when dragging an AVI or WMV source file under the playhead.
·Fixed network security message not showing in installed languages.
·Fixed a memory leak with timeline media.
·Fixed a bug that could create an invalid title when trimming the beginning of the project’s first title.
·ESC key works again to exit sync title now
·During voice narration and sync subtitles, the download button and side record button are now disabled.
·Dynamic backgrounds and other shader-based media no longer skip after a ripple removal.
·Fixed a bug that could cause a test dialog to briefly appear for users who already have a valid Camtasia license.
·Improved the default Background Removal quality to Fine for users with discrete video cards.
·Fixed a bug that could cause a crash or other unwanted behavior when editing cursors on joined media.
·Fix noise removal sometimes failing when clicking Analyze
·Fixed a bug that could cause some videos to flip when visual effects were applied.
·Fixed a bug that could prevent subtitles from scrolling correctly during synchronization.
·Fixed a bug in the Modern Exporter that could cause modified settings to be lost when switching tabs.
·Fixed issue where recording toolbar button tooltips could appear in recording.
·Fixed a crash that could occur when saving to a standalone project.
·Improved consistency of visual effects between different types of source media, including differences with Lottie files and proxy media in the Editor.
·Fixed a bug that could create multiple undo points when reversing while trimming.

-Guidelines for 4K, 60 FPS and behaviors
Guidelines for 4k content, 60 FPS and Behaviors with Camtasia

All of the following guidelines apply to performance (smoothness) for the canvas preview and timeline while editing. Project production, in most cases, results in smooth videos even if the canvas preview is a bit choppy.
4K and 60 FPS

Camtasia 2018 and later adds the ability to import, edit and produce 60 FPS media. In addition to this feature, we have invested considerable effort to increase Camtasia’s ability to utilize the computing power of a system of users. This has helped with other demanding features like 4K media and behaviors.

Camtasia 2018 and later uses hardware accelerated decoding for MP4 to preview projects on the canvas. Based on our testing both at home and with our beta testers, what we recommend for 4K media and 60 FPS when editing.

Recommended machine:
– Windows 10
– 3.5 Ghz 8th Generation Intel Processor – CoreTM i5 with 4 CPU cores or better or 3.5 Ghz 2nd Generation AMD – RyzenTM 5 Processor with 4 CPU cores or better –
Discrete graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce Series 10 or higher)
-16 GB or more

60 FPS is not recommended for machines that are Windows 7 and/or have an integrated graphics card.

With hardware acceleration for canvas preview, you should expect better performance with new discrete graphics cards. Additionally, having more than one piece of 4K and/or 60 FPS media on the canvas simultaneously will demand more from your system. So expect some canvas slippage with multiple pieces of 4K or 60 FPS media simultaneously on the canvas, depending on the computing power of your system.
Library Behaviors and Assets

Text calls (announcements) with behaviors applied can require more computing power, especially when there are multiple behaviors being used on the canvas simultaneously. Some may find this with our library assets, such as lower thirds, intros and outros that leverage multiple text calls with behaviors. For users who are on our recommended system configuration, the behaviors should work fine in most cases. For those with systems that are closer to the minimum requirements, the behaviors may be less smooth in the canvas preview. When it occurs, the behaviors are typically smooth and problem-free, even if some spiciness is seen during the editing preview on the canvas. Based on our internal testing and with beta participants, here are some recommendations for a better editing experience with behaviors on lower-end systems.

Recommendations for behaviors and assets with behaviors on low-end systems:
-Removing drop shadows from calls with behaviors may improve canvas preview
-If using a system with integrated graphics, switching to Software-only acceleration may improve performance Smoothing of behaviors on the canvas (Edit Menu – Preferences – Advanced – Hardware Acceleration) –
Multiple calls with behaviors simultaneously on the canvas will be more demanding. An alternative to consider when multiple simultaneous calls are needed is to use a transition such as fade instead of a behavior.
