After mysterious light threads suddenly start appearing in the sky, the blimp journeys to China, following Silver’s suspicions. Will they find the light’s epicenter and why it exists? Little does Silver know that Gold has violently paved the way for her journey.

Smoke needs allies, and he must seek out Gold and Silver from the future Earth where he exiled them. Alpha leads Smoke on a journey through a dystopian China to find them and reach the ruins of Star City, Baikonur in Central Asia. There, together with the abandoned Marines from the Unit, they must overcome deadly robot spiders led by the malevolent Inspector-Detective Chen, last vestige of the People’s Republic of China’s Security Directorate.
Their prize, the space elevator tethered at Star City, ground zero for the Bloom, the mysterious nano-plague which killed almost everyone on Earth. The elites responsible for the Bloom fled up the Elevator to an orbital station, which Smoke and Alpha believe holds the secret to what caused the rip in the Tapestry, and may hold a way to stop it.
