Geared Up (#54): Born to master mechanics, she fights her way into the Guardians and finds a path to glory when she gears up. Niad has controlled herself since returning from the Citadel. She has kept out of the public eye and kept off the Guardians’ radar. Her talent is not encouraged by her people, and she is not legally allowed to participate in a rescue, a natural disaster or any law-enforcement actions. She keeps her head down and continues her work as a vehicle repair specialist until the day that her careful actions mix with a disaster. She finds a fire where a repair job is supposed to be and takes steps to do the best she can for those trapped inside. That one act is observed by one of the Guardians and evolves into an arrest, a charge, freedom and a change in position. She is ready to gear up.

Twisting Souls (#55): A reject on her own world, she had no idea what would happen when she twisted souls to find her freedom. Aymin lived a normal life until she was told that her brand of talent was forbidden. A tattoo, nanites, and a life as a social reject were the result. Backers were supposedly protected by law, but there were ways to torment them and that is what wracked Aymin each and every day. When the Backers started disappearing, Aymin got worried and when she was the last woman standing she gave herself to the inevitable. Waking on a space station was a shock. Seeing what they were doing to the other Backers was worse. An escape thwarted and a rescue by strangers starts a new phase in Aymin’s life, if she can prove herself to those around her.

Breaking the Minder (#56): Being single-minded has never been a talent… until now. Zeeat has spent her life in contemplation, education and empathy. Given a chance to join the Citadel to learn what she is completely capable of, she takes the opportunity to move to her next level of experience. In Citadel Morganti, she learns to use the peculiar structure of her mind for the benefit of those around her until the day she is selected for an espionage mission. Minders have been going missing, and Zeeat is going undercover to find out where. Her life, sanity and sense of self are all hanging in the balance as she takes on the mastermind of Ikappi.

Touching Water (#57): Going from researcher to hero is almost easy compared to falling in love with an alien world. Lydra wanted to live a life as a researcher and focus on solving mysteries of genetics. She never intended to become one of those mysteries. Trapped in an experiment gone wrong, she ends up blue and powerless on her own world, so she decides to be a freak amongst freaks elsewhere. Locals populate guardian Base Vidiaro, but Lydra gets by, by doing her crime scene analysis until the day that the experiment that started on her own world takes its course. She goes from an anomaly to a hero and isn’t sure which she really wants to be.
