Overview: Shaun’s life seemed to be predestined for violence. When he was just 8-years-old, his father was murdered by a rival gang member right before his eyes. Because of his death, his father’s gang members quickly became the role models that helped him progress into manhood.
Naturally, he began following in his father’s footsteps, joining the Vice Lord gang.
When his mother loses her job, Shaun decides to drop out of School during his sophomore year and hustle on the streets in order to bring in more money to become the man of the house.
As time passes, his own mother becomes addicted to the same crack he is pushing out on the streets. After seeing his friend murdered on the block in the same gruesome fashion his father was, he begins to get tired of that life.
Shaun was sentenced to spend time in a Juvenile detention center where he decided to hone in on the expressive lyrical talent that was buried deep inside of him. When he gets out of Juvie, he heads to New York with a new friend and pursues a rap career.
There, he hooks up with a record label, and in the process meets Malica, an up-and-coming R&B diva.
A natural chemistry begins to brew between Malica and Shaun. Unfortunately, the owner of Malica’s label, Alonzo Winston, has his eyes on her as well, and he doesn’t plan on letting anybody else get to her.
Alonzo has deep ties to a New York street gang who are bitter rivals to the Vice Lords.
Shaun will be forced to make an ultimate decision that will either destroy or preserve his relationship with Malica. In this epic story of love and hip-hop, we will quickly see how love can completely change everything for better or for worse.
