Overview: At 28 Olivia Mackenzie’s got her life all figured out. She’s a top-selling real estate agent in the quaint lakefront town of Bennett Falls. Julie Dean runs the tour company that caters to tourists in Bennett Falls. She’s always looking for something new to add to her business and the island’s caught her attention. She knows it’s up for sale, and off-limits to camping or boaters, but since the place is deserted she decides, what the hell—why not camp there for a few days and get a good feel for whether or not it will be a good addition to the company she runs?
She’s not expecting Olivia, a woman she has a not-so-great history with, to show up with an argumentative couple in tow, nor is she expecting that couple to haul ass off the island, running over the small boat that’s her only transportation back to the mainland in the process but that’s just what happens.
Both Olivia and Julie expect the major storm front to hit while they’re stuck on the island.
Neither of them expect to get hit with sparks that flare up between them, but those sparks are there and they flash into fire even though neither of them are sure they really belong together. They’re as different as freshwater and seawater after all.
Their time on the island is brief but it’s not enough to convince both of them that there might be something there after all. Only Olivia’s still smarting from a really bad breakup with her former lover and Julie’s got a few secrets she’d rather not share, especially with Olivia.
When their dreams cause them to end up on opposing sides Julie and Olivia will have to decide what is more important, the things they want most—or each other.
