Overview: 1942. In Amsterdam occupied by Amsterdam, Walter Suskind is appointed head of the Hollandsche Schouwburg. On the order of the Jewish Council, he made sure that his fellow Jews were deported from the theater to Westerbork, supposedly to work in Germany. But when Walter learns what fate awaits them in reality, he decides to play a double game that puts his life in danger. He befriends the senior officer SS Aus der Fuets and at the same time seeks to align himself with illegality. Using his position in Schouwburg, he tries to save a large number of children from certain death. As the raids rise and the net closes on the Jewish community, Walter risks everything he wants.
