Sunrise West (1974) by William K. Carlson (ed. Jerry eBooks 2021)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 10.0Mb
Overview: Custom-made epub of the two-part serialized novel from Vertex, October-December 1974.
This novel is about an unlikely group of six who who come together, relying on each other for survival–both physical and spiritual–in a harsh, violent society. The point of view jumps from one character’s perspective to another as the story progresses. It features an attempt by multispecies commune-dwellers (some of them hippies) to survive in a Post-Holocaust USA, an enterprise which generates a dystopia.
Here’s the teaser from the book:
"There was a new world waiting to be born, but it would have to wait until the principal characters learned their lines."
This is actually a well-written post-apocalyptic/post holocaust (nuclear?) thriller/sf novel. Well-worth the read.
Genre: Fiction > Sci-Fi/Fantasy
