She takes the bus until she hits the quaint town of Plains, Montana. Daphne decides that she must create a new identity if she wants to be safe, so she calls herself Lana. There, a sweet florist named Loralie takes pity on her and gives her a job, and introduces her to her handsome son, Max.
Max is used to being on his own, and that is how he likes it. However, that all changes when his mom asks him to let Lana stay in his guest lodge. Although he thinks Lana is hiding a dark secret, he cannot help but wonder about her. Despite her quietness and evasiveness about her past, Max finds that he enjoys her company more than he wants to admit.
Lana is grateful for Loralie and Max, but how long can she keep them in the dark before they find out her dark secret? And how long will it take before James find her?
2. Enchanting #2 – Daphne is enjoying living her double life as Lana, the mysterious new girl in town.
It is much better than the truth, that she is Daphne, the girl who is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend. Daphne knows she has to move on soon, but when she starts to fall for Max, things start to get complicated.
Max has never been one for relationships. They’re too complicated, and he’d rather keep his life as simple as possible. Yet with Lana, he knows that complicated is just the first layer. Despite his instincts screaming at him that she is hiding something, his heart doesn’t seem to care.
As Daphne and Max’s feelings for one another start to grow, the secret that Daphne has been hiding threatens to tear them apart. Daphne knows that she can’t keep hiding forever, but what will Max think of her when he finds out the truth?
3. Enchanting #3– Daphne knew she couldn’t hide the truth from Max forever, and when she finally told him, she felt free. No matter what Max thought of her, at least there were no longer any secrets between them. To her surprise, her confession brought them closer.
Max knows that Lana’s real name is Daphne, but to him, she is still Lana. She is the woman who came into his life and changed it for the better. She is the woman that his mother loves, and she is the woman who taught him about compassion and kindness. Everything seemed to be going well for them until Harper Stone came back into town. Max hasn’t seen Harper in years, but the feeling in his chest when he sees her brings forth a lifetime’s worth of painful memories.
Harper begins to cause a rift between Lana and Max, and it isn’t long before Max has to come face to face with his biggest regret. The only question is, will Lana still be there after she finds out the truth?
