Starlight Ridge series by Kat Bellemore (#1-4)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 3.0 MB
Overview: Kat Bellemore is the author of the Borrowing Amor small town romance series. Deciding to have New Mexico as the setting for the series was an easy choice, considering its amazing sunsets, blue skies and tasty green chile. That, and she currently lives there with her husband and two cute kids. They hope to one day add a dog to the family, but for now, the native animals of the desert will have to do. Though, Kat wouldn’t mind ridding the world of scorpions and centipedes. They’re just mean.
Genre: Fiction > Romance
1. Diving into Love
She already left one fiancé. She didn’t need another.
When Bree Garrett’s former college roommate invites Bree to move to Starlight Ridge, a small tourist town on the Californian coast, she is all too happy to leave the deserts of New Mexico and the memories of her former life. She only has three conditions:
One– No one can find out about her fear of water—totally embarrassing when you live next to the ocean.
Two– No seafood. She can’t stomach it. Yeah, she sees the irony of points number one and two.
Three– No blind dates. The last thing she needs is a relationship. Her ex-fiancé would agree.
Easier said than done when the only job available is at a surf shop and the owner, Caleb, is under the impression that Bree has applied to be a scuba instructor, and not a cashier, as she had intended. Bree tries to clear up the misunderstanding, but it’s hard when she seems to lose her voice—and her breath—every time Caleb is near. How could she not when he happens to be attractive, single and, as it turns out, also doesn’t like seafood? Bree and Caleb struggle against the pull of the tide that seems determined to bring them together. But, despite their differences, maybe this is one battle that is okay to lose.
2. Resisting Love
He’d rather ride the waves than the tide of romance.
Isaac Larson is the picture of surfing perfection, killer smile included. But ever since his long-time girlfriend left their small town for the summer—and never came back—it has been harder to find things to smile about. It isn’t until she turns up on the beach two years later, ready to pick back up where they had left off, that he realizes he’s finally ready to move on.
Leanne Warner had only intended to spend the summer in LA. A screen-writing apprenticeship with a Hollywood bigwig had been too good an opportunity to pass up. Her boyfriend, Isaac, would still be around when she got back. Except, leaving LA hadn’t been as easy as leaving Starlight Ridge. When she finally breaks free of its chains and returns to her hometown, Isaac is still there, as she knew he would be. But he isn’t the same person as when she’d left. And neither is she.
Will some small-town intervention and a lot of forgiveness be enough for Isaac and Leanne to figure out they were never meant to be apart?
3. Starlight Love
She’s falling in love. He’s just playing a part.
When Adeline Baker was told that big-time Hollywood actor, Eli Hunt, wanted to film a movie in Starlight Ridge—and inside her small chocolate shop—she told them they were crazy. But the film crew arrived, and Eli Hunt with them, and fantasy quickly became reality. Adeline knew Eli would be charming—she’d read the magazines and seen the interviews—but she’d underestimated the pull he’d have on her. Too bad she couldn’t trust a word that came out of his mouth, because there was one thing Eli was famous for. He never stepped out of character while filming a movie—even off set.
The first time Eli Hunt had visited Starlight Ridge, he’d known he’d found the setting for his next romantic drama. The mild winter weather and small-town beach community was exactly what he was looking for. The pretty owner of the local chocolate shop hadn’t hurt either. But as filming commences, Eli realizes he has a problem. He feels more chemistry with Adeline than his co-star. To make matters worse, he can’t step out of character. And the longer he spends with her, the more he desperately wishes he could.
It will take trust and courage for Adeline and Eli to step outside their roles and discover if what they have is real, or if it is merely a Hollywood illusion.
4. Building on Love
Not all broken hearts are beyond repair.
Davis Jones finds the world to be chaotic and overwhelming, especially since his fiancé died. But as the owner of a small-town hardware store, he enjoys fixing what is damaged–his life excluded. Attempting to escape his demons, he visits his family where they are volunteering in Thailand. All he wants is to help others in relative peace and quiet. But the beautiful and gregarious service director has other plans.
Chloe Rodgers has lived in Thailand for the past fifteen years. As the director of a service organization, she spends her time in remote villages, rebuilding when disaster strikes. But when an attractive volunteer arrives, she’s torn between her philanthropic lifestyle and considering the possibility of building a life of her own.
Davis and Chloe have spent so much time fixing other people’s problems, that it will take a miracle repairing themselves enough to find the love they deserve.
