01. Lily’s Shimmering Spell: Welcome to Stargirl Academy, the magical school in the clouds! Previously a rather old-fashioned establishment, it has been reopened by its head teacher to train children
to be modern day fairy godmothers. Fairy Mary McBee selects a group of girls: Lily, Ava, Madison, Sophie, Emma, Olivia – and Melody and Jackson who think they’re better than everyone else.
The girls learn lots of spells – shimmering, starry, shining, sparkling, glittering and twinkling ones – which they use to fix problems and help people in trouble.
For every successful mission they gain a star, and once they have six stars they will be fully qualified stargirls! Ava leads the first mission and decides they should teach Lily’s horrible great aunt a lesson.
With a new spell the girls convince Great Aunt Acidity that supernatural forces are angry with her: floating crockery and a message written by a teapot make her change her ways.
It’s a triumph – they’ve earned their first star!
02. Madison’s Starry Spell: Madison leads the second mission and chooses to help her sister Izzy’s friend Di who says her mother is very ill. Izzy has been behaving really weirdly since she started her new school and it turns out it’s because Di is bullying her. With some magical intervention in the form of a starry spell, the girls discover the truth about Di – and once everything comes out the two girls become firm friends!
03. Sophie’s Shining Spell: It’s Jackson’s turn to lead a mission and she chooses to help her mum who is having a hard time from her boss. The other girls are desperate to do something for Sophie’s little brother who has nowhere to play since the local park has been shut down. Jackson isn’t having any of it, but by chance her mum’s boss is at the heart of the problem. Everyone is happy when he gets his comeuppance thanks to Sophie’s shining spell. The girls have earned their third star!
04. Ava’s Sparkling Spell: It’s Lily’s turn to lead a mission but she hands over to Ava who is worried about her lovely local cafe. Cafe Blush is losing customers to a new place down the road and faces closure. The Stargirls investigate the new cafe and find it’s a sham – what’s more, the kitchen is disgusting! With a nifty sparkling spell, the girls expose the owners’ sloppy standards and everyone returns to Cafe Blush! Another successful mission – and another star!
