2. Hex Division
The war is heating up. Fresh off their first major victory against the Nyctus, the Orbital Navy is moving forward in confusion. Starcasters, led by Thorn Stellers, are not trusted—magic has not replaced the power of steel and naval might, and humanity is at a crossroads. As Thorn and Kira define their roles in the new navy, magic refuses to stay still. When Thorn discovers he has untapped power, Mol Wyant helps him use it. The results will change every rule, along with the known galaxy, for Thorn Stellers isn’t just a magician of unknown power. He’s a weapon of undiscovered fury. With Kira, Mol, and a salty captain, Thorn will push the edge of warfare into something new. Something wild and deadly—a threat the Nyctus could never have predicted. Using his power like a sword, Thorn carves open the first path to victory, using sorcery of such terrifying strength that it challenges the laws of physics. But at what cost? Can his crew trust him, knowing he can change the nature of space and time? Can he even trust himself? The battle for tomorrow begins today.
3. Crimson Sun
The Nyctus don’t like losing, and they’ll go to any lengths to turn the tides of war. When the idyllic planet Nebo is scorched into oblivion, it’s obvious that the Nyctus are moving massive fleets into human space again, and their intention is clear: even if they lose their ships, they will render planets into ash. To add to the damage, they seem to have key intelligence that could only have been obtained by a human crew. Only one ship has ever gone missing, it’s disappearance unexplained and its crew never to be found: The Pool of Stars, one of the first starships. And she’s been missing for centuries. Now, after all these years, it’s up to Thorn to find it, for her disappearance might hold the key to victory.
4. Witch Nebula
On a sunny green world, a little girl watches as meteors fall, bringing death and fire from above. She isn’t alone. Thorn Stellers is there, watching, unsure of his connection and what he can do to save the child from a fate like his parents, all those years ago. Reaching across the lightyears, Thorn sets a chain of events into play that will shift reality as he knows it. For this little girl is no ordinary child, and the meteors are no accident. The Nyctus have targeted her green world for destruction, and the girl along with it. But they failed. When the Orbital Navy investigates, they find a web of intrigue surrounding the latest Nyctus weapon known as Skins–stolen humans who have been reprogrammed as spies. The Skins walk among humanity, serve in the navy, and plot, report, and sometimes even kill. They are everywhere, always watching, always waiting. Kira, Thorn, and the brilliant pilot Mol Wyant, will be pushed to the edge of loyalty and courage as their officers suspect them of the ultimate betrayal. It’s up to them to fight back, prove their accusers wrong, and find the connection to a shattered world where a young girl lifted her hands and kept the fire away.
5. Savage Tide
During a standard patrol, Thorn finds the scarred remains of a planet that has been reshaped by an unknown race. Massive machines were used to alter the landscape, and the only thing missing from the site is magic. Whoever is changing the galaxy, it isn’t the Nyctus. On a distant planet, Morgan is under constant psionic re-education, as the Nyctus try to shape her lethal power into a force for their fleet. Resisting them each step of the way, she will be subjected to attacks by the most gifted enemy shamans—but it might not be enough, as the little girl is no longer a confused child. She’s blooming into a being of such magical power that even Thorn might pale in comparison. With new allies in the galactic war, Thorn must use his gifts to convince one race after another that humans are their allies, not their enemies, and his unique brand of diplomacy just might work. But only if he and Kira can break through their grief and find a path back to Morgan, all while guiding an elite force on a desperate mission to save the girl who just might save them all.
6. Cry Victory
Thorn Stellers and his daughter are a problem, and not just for the Nyctus. With their power taking shape in directions like no one has ever seen, the Orbital Navy is faced with an unwelcome reality— The Starcasters are beyond control. Kira and Damien are assigned diplomatic roles in the growing sphere of galactic relations, leading them to a stunning discovery—humans are not alone in their fight against the Nyctus. Worlds are being destroyed by an unseen foe, with no defense against their attacks. Reaching out to new allies, the Orbital Navy finds a vast network of trading partners who lend technology that makes the navy inito a fierce new weapon, but with this change comes a critical question. Can the Nyctus be allowed to live? The question falls to Thorn—and Morgan, who is aging like no other child, mature beyond her years and harboring power that can split the stars. She alone knows the Nyctus and their factions, and their survival might depend on a girl they swore to kill. She might not get the chance to decide, unless the Orbital Navy can find a way to leap ahead of their newest threat, the Bilau. But Morgan might have the key, found in records on Nebo, under the watchful eye of her guards. A technology that can send human fleets into enemy space at speeds like never before, her discovery will change everything—even the battlefield. With Thorn, Kira, and Bertilak, the fleet will gamble everything to win, and they’ll do it against an enemy with one sworn mission: To end humanity, and the Starcasters, and the thing they fear the most in all the known worlds: magic.
