Stalingrado by Antony Beevor
Requirements: .PDF reader, 1.2 MB
Overview: Stalingrad, the city of Stalin, is famous for the battle that was fought in it during World War II. Several authors believe that it was the turning point of the war; the moment and the place where the German war machine was stopped, until the moment victorious and unbeatable, and started the cruel downhill of the III Reich. It was, in a few words; the beginning of the end.
Anthony Beevor narrates the epic from the perspective of both sides, and for this he relies on his systematic investigation of the Russian and German archives; in addition to the interviews he does with the survivors.
However, it is not an arid or fragmented book, it has the rhythm of a novel and it is read with interest that it does not decay until the last page is finished. In short, another of the exciting books by Anthony Beevor that I recommend to anyone who wants to learn a little more about the main events of the last century.
