A young and cheeky Fitzwilliam Darcy is plunged into the depths of absurdity after he offends a stranger, Mr. Edward Gardiner, at a public house, and is obliged to spend some days working at his home, where carriages of weird nightmare await, alongside the unpredictable lady of the house, and the couple’s insolent adopted son, Alexander.
Mr. Gardiner, a consistent drunk, is a psychologically and physically abusive husband, neglecting of his wife her beauty, elegance and uniqueness, characteristics promptly spotted and attended to by an observant Darcy.
When Darcy, via an absurd journey to find himself, his uncontrollable affections toward her and the devilish urging of son Alexander, finally unmasks the true Mrs. Gardiner, he seals the fate of the relationship for good.
Set in a variety of eras ranging from regency to modern day. Written through Darcy.
