Before I could blink, I was fighting wererats, getting kidnapped by superheroes, stealing a cape inhabited by the ghost of a magical genius, and trying to save the world alongside a 2,000-year-old immortal who wields a piece of Noah’s Ark. All while struggling to not get evicted or fired from my job. That was just Monday. Tuesday is shaping up to be busier.
My name is Sage Hawthorne: butt-kicking sorceress, professional bodyguard, amateur superhero, and occasional screwup. For the world’s sake, let’s hope this isn’t one of those times I screw up.
2. Monster Madness
Monsters are real…a real pain in my butt.
When those monsters start killing folks and threaten to expose the hidden magical world, who you gonna call?
Nope, not the Ghostbusters. The rulers of the magical world call me, Sage Hawthorne, your friendly neighborhood secret sorceress and wannabe superhero. They give me a choice: risk my neck to eliminate the monster threat or get thrown into prison forever for my crimes against magic.
Accompanied by my mouthy magic cloak and Agatha, my so-called mother who abandoned me as a child, I must stop these monsters from killing more innocents, figure out what dark force made them run amok in the first place, and earn the right to be the world’s only magical superhero. Or die trying.
3. Hero Hunt
I thought a magical superhero murdering people was someone else’s problem. Then he killed someone I love. Now I’m going to make myself his problem. But first I have to find him. Hopefully before he kills again. A half-trained sorceress like me versus Earth’s most powerful sorcerer? What could possibly go wrong?
