Overview: Avalon and Jeyes are Doms, a peaceful race who rely on the sun to power their energy cores. Jeyes, a talented singer, dreams of one day singing to the sun itself. Jeyes’s dream shatters when dark clouds cover the sky, cutting off all sunlight. The Doms find themselves enslaved by the more powerful Celestes. Desperate for energy, the Celestes force the Doms to harvest the only source of power remaining: the Pyre Flowers. Years pass, until Pyre Flowers hover on the brink of extinction. Both Doms and Celestes are sure to perish when the last flower is picked. The world seems doomed. With nothing left to lose, Avalon and Jeyes set out to make Jeyes’s long-denied dream reality. To do so, they’ll need to escape the Celeste’s increasingly draconian control, traverse a dying world, and ascend the one mountain that peaks above the clouds.
