Overview: As a child, Sarina Dorie dreamed of being an astronaut/archaeologist/fashion designer/illustrator/writer. After years of dedication and hard work, most of Sarina’s dreams have come true; in addition to teaching art, she is an author/copywriter/artist/fashion designer/belly dancer. She has taught English overseas in South Korea and in the JET program in Japan, where she felt like an alien much of the time which inspired numerous stories. In the process, they uncover a conspiracy that goes far deeper than the murder of Errol’s sister. This secret threatens their king and kingdom. It is up to Errol to ensure the truth is made public and justice is served—even when it might get him and those he cares about killed in the process. Though his king has succeeded in defeating the enemy and now reigns as a benign benefactor of the new Raven Court, Errol is left without magic. He is displaced and unable to serve his king and kingdom as he once had. When shadow goblin spies sneak into the castle and stir up trouble, Errol is determined to discover their accomplice—even if it happens to be someone in the royal family. It comes as no surprise that the wily king of the Silver Court has plans for the Raven Court, including a plot that will threaten Princess Imani’s welfare. It will take Errol’s wisdom from failures buried deep in his past to outtrick a trickster king he once served. This could be Errol’s way of redeeming himself for his failures—but it just might use up every last drop of magic he has left and leave him dead.

When King Elric foolishly strikes a bargain with his father, King Viridios of the Silver Court, the rulers agree Princess Imani will marry a man of King Viridios’ choosing. No battle General Errol has faced will be as difficult as fending off Princess Imani’s suitors so that they don’t seduce her with enchantments or use muse magic to drive her mad with pining. It is bad enough he is tasked with this duty despite his depleted magic, but his king expects him to help the princess choose one of the suitors. To his surprise, Errol finds himself falling in love with Imani despite his vow to hold duty first—even if that means never loving again. Yet his heart has other plans for him. . Errol is faced with performing his duty as his king has dictated or following his heart—giving up honor and everything else he holds dear in the process.
7. A Court of Shadows and Lies
Can Errol solve the mystery of his past before it’s too late? General Errol, the commanding officer of the royal guard, has survived a near death experience that drains his magic, robbing him of his wings, and depleting his sight. He doesn’t know how he will be able to keep his oath to his king to protect Princess Imani. Errol must thwart unsuitable suitors who use muse magic to drive artists mad and romantic rivals who illegally smuggle electricity and Internet in the Faerie Realm despite the dangers this poses to all. As King Viridios grows more demanding that Princess Imani must marry one of his heirs, Errol must authenticate his lineage to prove he is an eligible suitor—if she will still have him. What Errol doesn’t realize, is that love is the least of his worries. A dark and dangerous creature lurks in the shadows with Princess Imani as its target. The only ability Errol has left is his wits, and he must use this skill to stop a monster before time runs out for Princess Imani.
