Overview: Serious turmoil is beginning to brew within the small, but mighty empire of Solaria. The new emperor, Darrion Halensa, is no way near as vicious as his mother was with the demihuman clans that surround the empire, and it’s earning him many enemies in the militaristic force known as the Bulwark. Unlike Darrion, they wish to continue crushing the demihuman threat like they had done during his mother’s rule, but he’s proven to be very stubborn and pacifistic towards every military proposal.
To make matters far worse for the young emperor, a recent catastrophic military blunder was solely caused by his childhood friend, Violet. The Bulwark is seething with anger and demands her execution as payback for all the setbacks she caused. Though the emperor’s relationship with the Bulwark was never in good shape to begin with, it has now reached a point where he can sense serious danger on the horizon. He fears that if he doesn’t give into their demands and let them rightfully punish her, they might entertain the idea of overthrowing the crown.
Terrified and desperate to save her own life and her beloved friendship, Violet is forced to reveal some extremely sensitive secrets about not only herself, but the demihuman clans that Solaria has always despised.
The emperor’s world is about to be completely flipped upside down, and he’s terrified of what it’s going to mean for the survival of his people.
