Sleeping Dragons series by Ophelia Bell (#2-6)
Requirements: .ePUB .MOBI Reader | 2.9 MB
Overview: Ophelia Bell writes about sex. She doesn’t write sex to arouse others, though that is a happy side effect. She writes sex for the very specific and personal reason of experiencing those things that tie her to the earth, that keep her grounded. It might seem counterintuitive – that sex elevates us (at least if it’s enjoyable) because of all the analogies to flying away we see in erotic writing, but Ophelia thinks Milan Kundera asked the right questions:
“The heavier the burden, the closer our lives come to the earth, the more real and truthful they become. Conversely, the absolute absence of burden causes man to be lighter than air, to soar into heights, take leave of the earth and his earthly being, and become only half real, his movements as free as they are insignificant. What then shall we choose? Weight or lightness?” – The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Genre: Romance Erotic Paranormal
Tabula Rasa (#2) Camille’s smart, bookish, and very shy demeanor has left her in the dust where men are concerned. But she loves her job as a linguist specializing in lost, ancient languages. When she gets chosen for an expedition into the far reaches of the Sumatran jungle the likes of which no one has attempted before, she jumps at the opportunity. Along the way, she becomes enamored of the geologist, a beautiful man named Eben, but is too shy to approach him and he seems to keep his distance.
Something inside the dragon temple awakens a deeper part of her and soon she learns of the ritual to awaken a long-forgotten race of creatures the world hasn’t seen in thousands of years. Her research tells her she’s a key. A virgin sacrifice. But it doesn’t tell her what that means. The magic in the temple reveals only that the dragons must awaken for her to earn Eben’s attention.
She sheds her inhibitions in one dark, heated moment to make it happen. What follows is pleasure beyond her wildest and dirtiest dreams.
Gemini (#3) Dimitri and his twin brother, Alex, always led a charmed life. The inseparable twins were were good looking and smart. They grew up in an idyllic part of the world on the island of Crete. They studied hard together at university and graduated from a prestigious school with honors. But tragedy struck and Dimitri’s other half was wrenched from his life.
After that Dimitri struggled to fill the emptiness his brother’s death left behind. He had girlfriends. He had boyfriends. But nothing ever clicked, so he focused on being an award-winning anthropologist just hoping to distract himself enough from his loss to eventually move on. Then the offer of a lifetime fell at his feet, an expedition the likes of which he’d never imagined and just outrageous enough to spark his interest.
After a two-week trek through the Sumatran jungle, Dimitri’s wildest dreams are trumped by what he finds inside the dragon temple. Twin golden dragons await inside a dark chamber for him to awaken them. Will he be able to satisfy them both? All he knows when faced with the dilemma is that his sanity might just depend on it.
Shadows (#4) Everyone has a little bit of darkness in them. Hallie’s denied her own inner demons for months, running whenever someone gets too close to illuminating things she’d rather keep hidden. On the run from her past yet again, she fakes some credentials to join an archaeology expedition to the Sumatran jungle that sounds like the perfect way to escape. Out of her depth, she struggles not to let her teammates know she’s not really one of them, but she learns the dragon temple they discover might provide answers to questions she’d been afraid to ask.
The first night inside the temple she awakens to an invisible presence bringing her to heights of pleasure she’s never known before. He then disappears into the darkness without a word. She chases a shadow that might just be a hallucination, but pleasure like that can’t be all in her head.
When she finds her shadow man, she also comes face to face with her own darkness. She is forced to reconcile her past in order to embrace the person who will finally give her a reason to stop running.
Nexus (#5) Born to a race of creatures that strictly polices its presence among humans, Kris possesses a gift only one dragon in each generation may possess – that of a human form that requires no magic to maintain. Only to Kris, his form is a curse because it means he has spent his life without the touch of another since he left his mother’s breast.
Graced by his mother with the mark of his race and raised by a reclusive sect of monks, Kris learns his destiny, and the means to shed his affliction, lies within the slumbering depths of a long forgotten temple in the Sumatran jungle. To fulfill his destiny, he must lead a group of archaeologists there to awaken his brethren.
Kris has been a patient observer during the ritual, watching while the dragons of the temple’s court gathered sexual energy from the humans. But finally his part of the ritual is at hand. His task is to receive that gathered power through the same means it was taken, and serve as the conduit through which that energy will awaken their Queen.
Ascend (#6) Corey has always led an honorable life. He’s worked hard, found success doing a job he enjoys. He longs for a partner—a woman who will be his match, who might love him as much as she challenges him.
The last thing he ever expected was to wind up the consort of the Dragon Queen.
Racha, the Queen of Dragons, is awake after five centuries, but her promised mate is reluctant to bed her, the last and most crucial step in the ritual to awaken the brood of dragons she rules.
Will she be able to convince him before the magic consumes her?
