Slaine: The Exile
Exile is the first verse in the Lay of Sline Mac Roth, son of the Sessair. It follows his life between the ages of 12 and 19, and begins with young Sline coming to terms with his warrior’s gift, the Warp Spasm. Exile chronicles his acceptance into the elite warriors of the Red Branch, and his eventual exile from his own people for crimes against his King. Sline encounters Ukko, a filthy dwarven scoundrel, who attaches himself to the young warrior, ‘guiding’ him towards his eventual return to claim the Kingship of the Sessair.
Slaine: The Defiler
Defiler is the second verse in the Lay of Sline Mac Roth, son of the Sessair. Sline possesses the secret plans of Slough Fegg for ragnarock, though he does not understand them. He hunts Tall Isen the wanderer, and together with Ukko they cross between worlds, entering the realm of the Sidhe in an attempt to avert the end of all things. In the realm of the Sidhe Sline rescues The Knucker, a dragon, from the Otherworld, and quest for the Cauldron of Rebirth, a gift fit for a High King . . . Only then can Sline return home to Murias to claim his place at the forefront of his people, redeemed.
