1. 16 Sunsets
Kristoff Boyadzhiev and his wife led a simple life, until he was suddenly diagnosed with end-stage terminal cancer and given two weeks to live. Struggling with the news and long-buried resentment against most of humanity, he runs afoul of a street thug with super powers and is killed–only to discover that he has a power of his own. Revived again and again by inadvertently taking the life and power of others around him when he dies, Kristoff is torn between the hope of dying a better man or using his new ability to disturb dark family secrets before the cancer kills him for the last time.
His power, and the trail of bodies left behind by his descent, draws the attention of a Seattle police detective investigating strange happenings all over the city. A covert government agency also seeks to round up Kristoff and others like him, with the hope of either harnessing or curing their powers. Kristoff wants to be the hero he promised his wife at the end, but before that he needs to know the whole truth about his past, no matter the cost. With so many others in his way, that cost could be too high to die with any honor; and with two weeks left he has no time to choose.
2. Moonrise
Anne Henderson, whose super powers granted her immortality millennia ago, is one of the few people aware that the government agency run by Dr. Jacob Globe has been subverted to an evil purpose. Globe is still tracking down super-powered humans, but not to help them. His ambition is to learn the secret behind their powers, and give or take them at will. Anne works alongside several others of her kind, as well as police detective Frank Massey who has been following the emergence of supers, to rescue those that Globe has taken and to expose his activities to the world.
While Globe consolidates his power, he plans to extend it even further in a bid to become Seattle’s next mayor, on an anti-super platform. The resistance is still scattered and faces daily persecution and even arrest as Globe employs skilled hackers to frame an innocent man for an act of terror. But some of the supers he’s captured and sedated are kept that way for a reason, leaving Anne and the others fighting Globe an impossible choice: to let one monster flourish, or loose another against him.
3. Starfall
Andy Kitz tracked a series of strange events, and now knows the world is full of super-powered people. Having worked with a few supers, including a former street thug looking for redemption, he wants to help those who would protect the city and stop anyone, powered or not, who would harm innocents. But now he’s one of only a few who know that the secret government agency run by Dr. Jacob Globe is not about merely trying to eliminate dangerous powers, but capturing supers for study so he can learn to give and take power at will.
There are supers with powers beyond comprehension, and Globe’s machinations could result in victims that he has no hope of controlling. The world watches the fallout of supers versus non-supers, and the city of Seattle is caught up in the crossfire between factions who believe that their way is the only way forward. But in a time where neighbors resort to reporting suspicious activity to settle grudges, Seattle is a powder keg awaiting a spark.
