Overview: Humanity wasn’t ready for the swiftness of the attack, nor the accuracy of the strategy and the level of impenetrable defence that faced them. One week was all it took for the human race to fall, for after the military, the invaders had wiped out the global fuel reserves.

The world was plunged into fear, darkness, and death.

The story follows Katya Devaroux, a twenty-four-year-old student previously studying anatomical biology. Having survived the initial invasion, Katya accidentally discovers the weakness in the armour of the humanoid alien known as Nerushi. Knowing she might have a way to fight back, Katya aims to move in the silence of the now desolate town to find the medicine she requires to treat her lifelong condition.

Discovering a ominous large black structure in the place of the local house of God, Katya ventures further into the midst of the invasion, gaining luck once more to find the weakness of the animalistic alien, Hiko. Within the black structure, she discovers that many humans still live. The invaders from another world were collecting hundreds of them to farm; males, females, and children separated out for seemingly unknown reasons. But Katya realises that this, along with the confirmation of her best friend surviving in one of these caged rooms, could mean that her family were still alive back in her home town.

Her long trek down to the south coast where her home town resides is filled with side trips to other factories, unspeakable emotional turmoil over her actions, horror, fear, and unlikely friendships forming in the face of silence and the dread of what could be found down the line of their travels.
