Overview: Emilie Thatcher has mixed feelings when her best friend announces that she is getting married. On one hand, a wedding for Kate will mean a lot of hassle and responsibility for Emilie, who will most certainly be expected to “help” Kate with all the planning (i.e. do everything). On the other hand, Kate’s wedding will also mean lots of bonding time with her other best friend and co-maid of honor Lana, who might even be persuaded to ditch her band in California and move back home to New Bern, Ohio to help Emilie talk Kate out of marrying a guy who, to be completely honest, smells disturbingly like cheese. On the other hand (they really should make more hands), Kate’s wedding also means that Emilie will be forced to come face to face with her first (okay, maybe only) love, Ethan Drake. Though it’s been years since Ethan broke her heart and left her without a backward glance, Emilie has never been able to completely forget about the jerk. So how is she supposed to go on pretending to be over him if she has to make small talk with him and pose for pictures with him and refrain from kissing and/or slapping him if this farce of a wedding actually ends up happening?
One thing is for certain: this next year promises to be full of laughter, surprises, and at least one overwrought groomsman in tears. Also, there could maybe, possibly, okay, definitely, be some sexy shenanigans behind the bleachers… So, really, what could possibly go wrong?
