Overview: Sherlock Holmes, the world’s greatest and best known detective, solved every one of his cases. A small number of cases, however, did not meet with his satisfaction, and were never published. Holmes instructed they be made public a century after his death. The cases were written up as usual by Dr. Watson, Holmes’s chronicler, and then consigned to the oblivion of a locked safe box deep in the vault of Great Britain’s most respected banking institution, the Bank Of England.
Over time the cases became lost, but recently they were found in an old steamer trunk, and coming into my hands. I resolved to publish them. Sherlock Holmes And The Alien Abduction is the first of these lost cases to be published.
In the case of Sherlock Holmes And The Alien Abduction a mysterious death is solved, an eminent, beautiful lady and her illustrious Theosophical Society are saved from terrible scandal, and the case is successfully closed.
There remains however a loose end, a fact that cannot be explained, and a disturbing possibility associated with it. The unexplainable fact, and the disturbing possibility, are why Holmes decided not to publish the case. They are described in the case’s conclusion, and when you learn what they are, you will know why Sherlock Holmes refused to have the case published until a century after his death.
It is doubtful that Sherlock Holmes’s astonishing powers of detection and logical deduction were ever applied with as much brilliancy and success, but with as little personal satisfaction for him, as in the case of Sherlock Holmes And The Alien Abduction.
