Overview: In the year 3507, Earth is attacked by a swarm of vicious aliens bent on exterminating all of humanity. But before their armada can cause any harm, the fleet of an enigmatic civilization which calls itself the Shadow Nation steps in to save the planet. The Earth’s rulers are shocked to find that the Nation is made up of astronauts drafted into an alien experiment to create a powerful military proxy. Now, the beings who turned the Nation into one of the most fearsome armadas in the Milky Way have decided that their experiment has grown out of control. And by defending the Earth, these former humans set off a chain of events that will culminate in a bloody war for the control of the galaxy.
Meanwhile, two of the most influential politicians on Earth, Howard Grey and Andrew Newman, draw the Nation’s top commander and his team into a political battle that will determine the future of Earth. As humans begin trading with the Nation’s companies, Newman worries that the mysterious empire may have far more sinister plans for the Earth should their war drag on too long, or worse yet, if they win. Grey, on the other hand, is hell bent on using the Nation to secure an epic legacy for himself as he gets ready to retire. The only thing they’ve agreed on is to send two special ops agents to live with the Nation and find out what makes its leaders tick. And what these agents will discover is beyond anything either they or the Earth’s rulers could ever imagine…
