Sha is a Franco-British comic, published by Editions Soleil. It is translated in Dutch and published by Uitgeverij Talent in The Netherlands.
The story is written by Pat Mills (best known for his work on Sláine, Charley’s War and ABC Warriors) and illustrated by Olivier Ledroit (early volumes of the Black Moon Chronicles). They both also collaborated on Requiem Chevalier Vampire.

This is the integral of SHA I discovered Olivier Ledroit. Or vice versa; I laminated the album in the bookstore and I bought the book because the design I had caught the eye. At a time when albums were reissued, I decided to reread the integral to see if my opinion had changed since 2000.Well not really. I find the same feelings of frustration at the origin.

It would, in an ideal world, such a drawing is associated with a history of same in their area. But it is not. The script by Pat Mills has no interest. This is not even a script is a synopsis. It would be unfair to shift all the defects of this story on the shoulders of Pat Mills, Olivier because Ledroit also has its share of responsibility for the failure of SHA.

Obviously, Olivier Ledroit Druillet read a lot. And broken boards in boxes stacked structure or machinery and other vehicles confirmed. Unfortunately, all this is difficult to read. An illustration is for example the background to the board, on which boxes are drawn. All in the same tones and colors (though beautiful) which often makes it difficult to understand things. One does not necessarily account for example the existence of a small box sitting in the corner board because the dominant colors of it are the same as those used for the small box in question. If the colors are beautiful, rather, they are all at the same level, so that the reasons not apparent and it must focus on the image to understand what we see. In short, the division is awkward and the colors do not help. Fortunately, the bubbles can understand what you read.

According to SHA, REQUIEM I tried the same duo of authors and found that even after Mills can not write a good screenplay, I sold the four volumes that I had. However, I have always kept that full SHA. Probably because it has a certain homogeneity fascinating that no REQUIEM.
As Gimenez (Juan), I would not find even one album Ledroit who really worthwhile (design AND history), but it seems that the most talented designers, illustrators are doomed never to find writers worthy of their talent and never to BD indispensable.
Anyway, the hope is to live so they say. So I hope.

In very few words I would say that this comic is absolutely fabulous! The duo, author of Requiem Vampire Knight, still works as well in this series earlier but always as successful in witchcraft which mingles the mystical belief and the reincarnation of a witch burned during Inquistion.
A story well served by all the incredible drawings plunged into a noirr which we delight.
        A masterpiece!
