Overview: Sara Robinson, the daughter of an affluent research medical doctor and recently orphaned, is on a journey across the United States from Texas to Brooklyn. Her trip will take her through the apocalyptic wasteland where the ordinary citizen has turned into a ravaged zombie, recently infected with a hybrid version of the Ebola virus, strain 27x.
Sara meets up with an unlikely survivor, many years her senior that helps her along the way. Traveling with her companion, Mac wonders if the twelve-year-old really needs his help or if he is the one that is depending on her to deliver them safely to their destination nearly 2200 miles away.
As the pair work their way north, they are harassed non-stop by a paramilitary faction of the defunct U.S. Government who are held up in a secret bunker high in the Rocky Mountains. Utilizing their wit and skills, they navigate difficult terrain and circumstances by airplane, motorcycle and dune buggy to a climactic confrontation with their adversaries.
