1. Thorns of Fate
“The things in the night really do go bump,” he said. I knew he was watching me for a reaction. Why wouldn’t he be. Any sane person would.
My heart pounded in my chest. “So what are you?” I asked in reply.
He smiled and it made my knees weak. “Well, in simplest terms,” he whispered, leaning closed. “I’m a vampire. Or hybrid.”
“Or?” I echoed, dumbfounded.
“Well I’m both, so whichever you prefer.”
I stared at him. His chestnut colored hair hung across his forehead until he swept it away. I don’t think he even realized he did it. His forest green eyes tracked my every step, keeping my attention.
“Go ahead,” he said. “Ask.”
I knew what he wanted me to say. Still the words caught in my throat. “What am I?”
“Now, that’s the real question,” he said, smiling down at me. I stared, waiting impatiently.
At last, he breathed, “You are the best of both worlds. Strong, humane, fast, powerful. You’re a Magick. Both vampire and witch combined.”
2. Divine Destiny

My name is Kyra Lucius. I had an average if not troubled life. I didn’t break the rules much and I strived toward my goals no matter what life threw at me. Finding out that my blood carried the gene for vampirism was shocking enough and learning to cope as a magick shooting, blood sucking creature of the night has been an adventure in patience.
My world was rudely ripped apart on the night my boyfriend and imprinted partner, Carson, was abducted. My best friend, Kellic, has had her mind warped by some ancient artifact she shouldn’t have messed with. To make matters worse, this all occurs just as a legitimate war begins between the Supernatural beings and the humans. I won’t stop until I can save them. And I hope I don’t somehow lose myself in the process.
