1. War from a Distant Sun
When a Daklan annihilator drops out of lightspeed, make sure you’re in a different solar system. Humanity is trapped in a decades-long conflict with a warlike alien species known as Daklan. The military’s high command has played it safe for too long and now defeat seems inevitable. Dealing with the consequences on the frontline, warship captain Carl Recker is a man with enemies on both sides. A routine mission takes him to a distant world upon which he finds technology from a war fought by an unknown species. The Daklan are interested in it too, and they have an annihilator class battleship at their disposal, while Recker is flying the smallest lightspeed capable warship in the human fleet. What follows will test Recker to his limits. Relentlessly pursued by the unstoppable battleship and seemingly forsaken by his superiors, he must hunt down answers from the past while fighting enemies from the present. Powerful relics of an ancient, terrible war are scattered on the fringes – finding them and unlocking their secrets may be the only hope for humanity.

2. Fractured Horizons
As the war between the Human Planetary Alliance and the Daklan intensifies, Captain Carl Recker experiences a sudden change in fortune. With battle-hardened officers in short supply, he’s given command of a modified, shipyard-fresh destroyer and a mission to go with it. As part of a task force under the command of an officer Recker is unfortunately all-too-familiar with, the plan is to recover weapons and technology from an uncharted world on the edge of known space. Easy. Little does Recker know it, but the outcome of this mission may well determine the future of both humanity and the Daklan. The distant planet Pinvos will be the scene of conflict and destruction on a cataclysmic scale and even success will be tempered by the uncertainty of what he discovers. With each passing day, a faraway war fought on a colossal scale comes ever nearer and humanity has no defence against the weapons created to fight it. No defence except perhaps one thing. The alien warship Vengeance has survived countless engagements and still it endures, scarred by the brutality of its past. And Recker is the only man with the key to unlock its secrets.

3. Galactar
Following decades of war and the recent catastrophic loss of an entire planet, the Human Planetary Alliance is riven by internal disputes and rivalries. The military’s old guard fights for power against those who see a chance to turn things around. After a series of hard-fought victories, Captain Carl Recker is becoming recognized as a man who gets results – a man who knows how to beat the Daklan. Unfortunately, enemies from his past would prefer to claim his successes as their own, and Recker finds himself caught between two factions within high command. Escape comes in the form of a mission, though it’s nothing run-of-the-mill. Given command of a new heavy cruiser, Recker is sent to track down a missing Daklan fleet and recover the alien technology it was searching for. It’s going to be tough and assistance comes in the form of a Daklan desolator, commanded by a larger-than-life officer who knows his missiles from his Terrus slugs. Deep within territory contested by the Meklon and Lavorix, Recker and his opposite number will need to work closely together. Trust is in short supply, while enemies are not. Faced with countless hostile aliens and their technology, Recker has his work cut out if he wants to stay on the right side of dead. And soon, he will draw the attention of the Lavorix empire breaker. The Galactar is coming, and against it, Recker stands no chance at all.

4. Fulcrum Gun
Lost in hostile space and pursued by the most powerful warship in the known universe, Captain Carl Recker is losing hope and running out of options. His battleship Fulcrum is no match for this enemy and the Meklon aliens who might have helped him are dead, killed by the Galactar’s murderous weaponry. Somehow, Recker must find a way to succeed where the might of an alien empire already failed. All is not lost. The Meklon are defeated, but they left a gift behind in the form of a gun. Not just any gun – this one is big. It is also lost and incomplete. It might not even function in the way its creators intended. If he’s to bring his ship and his crew home, Recker must find the weapon, make it work, and use it against the Galactar. Of course, his enemies are not about to stand idly by and watch. In this desperate sprint for survival, all paths lead to a dead world, where Recker will face warships, enemy soldiers and an opponent which can’t be killed. Time is tight and a single misstep will result in death. Eventually, the Galactar must be faced. When that happens, Recker knows all bets are off, however big the gun he’s holding.

5. Laws of Ancidium
Having fought his hardest battle, Captain Carl Recker returns to planet Lustre, bringing the alien battleship Fulcrum with him. Recker is under no illusions that he’ll be offered backdated shore leave, but his feet don’t even touch the ground before trouble shows up. A heavily armed fifty-thousand-metre Meklon interstellar drops out of lightspeed near the planet. The Indarox has travelled far and everyone onboard is dead. It’s a mystery nobody needed, least of all Recker. A mission to investigate doesn’t go as planned and he finds himself once again in hostile territory, attacked by Lavorix, and struggling to unearth the sinister truth behind the Indarox’s mission. The truth is not welcome. The Galactar was one of six. Five others remain and they’re actively searching for human worlds. The Indarox may well hold the key to their destruction, if only Recker can figure out how. With the HPA on the brink of civil war, he has far more on his hands than just aliens. Victory will mean playing hard and playing dirty. In comparison, the Galactar seems like just a bump in the road.

6. Empires in Ruin
Protected by their energy shields, the Lavorix warships Aeklu and Verumol survived the largest explosion ever created by technology. Now salvaged by the Human Planetary Alliance and their new Daklan allies, these once unstoppable weapons of mass destruction sit in a construction yard undergoing extensive repairs. The plan is straightforward – put human and Daklan crews on the stolen Laws of Ancidium and send them against their creators. Captain Carl Recker is chosen to command the Aeklu. Waiting for the refit to be completed should be easy – a chance to put his feet up and recover from the endless fighting. Unfortunately for Recker, the Lavorix want their property back and another planet-destroying spaceship turns up to ruin his day. Caught on the ground in a military base under intense bombardment, Recker must figure out a way to reach his warship and defeat this new opponent. The destruction will be on an unprecedented scale. Even if he succeeds, other Laws of Ancidium remain in enemy hands and together, they present a challenge Recker has no hope of beating. The war against the Lavorix is entering a critical phase and beyond the horizon is the biggest threat of all…

7. Recker’s Chance
Following his capture of the Lavorix warship Gorgadar, Captain Carl Recker knows that that the greatest challenge still lies ahead. The Ancidium is coming, and its arrival promises death and extinction. However, the Gorgadar is prime amongst the Laws of Ancidium, and its original crew were killed by one of the mysterious weapons it carries. Those weapons might be the only thing which can save humanity – or they may be little more than failed experiments. With time against him and Earth itself at risk, Recker must discover how to operate the Gorgadar to its fullest potential, while avoiding the fate which befell its crew. This will be no easy task – the Ancidium is not the only threat. The Ixidar – the Destroyer – is unleashed and this warship of incredible destructive capability has the power to reduce entire fleets to dust. Facing just one of these opponents would be enough. Recker never has it so easy. If the Human Planetary Alliance is to survive, he must defeat both, and that seems like an impossible task. Yet, without total victory, humanity’s extinction is assured.
