Saturday Night Pub Band series by Meg Buchanan (#1-4)
Requirements: .ePUB reader, 1.3 MB
Overview: I live in the Coromandel in New Zealand with my husband and a black labrador.

I love creating books about ordinary people doing interesting things. The characters in my stories are just a little better looking and more charismatic than in real life, but they think and feel like normal people.
Genre: Fiction > Romance

Stardust (#1)
Isaac
All I want to do is to play music.

All Jess wants to do is paint.

How hard can that be?

But life just keeps getting in the way.

So, no fairy tales. Not much happily ever after either.
Just something to hold on to.

I love Jess, and she loves me.

And there’s playing with Stadium. That makes life worth living. Being on stage and playing things I’ve written blows my mind.

Train Wreck (#2)
Noah
I can’t resist Natalia. The way she looks, the way she moves, and her accent all draw me in.

She can be hard to please but being with her is exciting. Passion, pleasure, punishment, and pain mixed.

At the start of the Easter holidays and I arrive at her place.

Then after a single night together, she announces I can’t stay because her daughter is coming to visit.

Who made the stick to your own decade rule anyway?
I’ve loved her for years and I won’t be her guilty secret any longer. I’ll force her to acknowledge me.

Can I accept what I discover about her?

Can she learn to show her love?

Luke
I’ve been going with Pippa since we started college.
She wants me to marry her.

Dad wants me to work in the family business.

They think my life is mapped out.

But I’ve already escaped from straight jacket they’ve put me in.

When I met Rose, I couldn’t choose between her and Pip.
They live in different towns, so I figure I shouldn’t get caught.

Then Pippa sees me with Rose, and all hell breaks loose.

Can I mend what I’ve broken?

Do I want to?

Should I leave and chase the dream?
Or do what everyone expects?

Loving Milly (#3)
Cole
We’re leaving in a week and Milly turns up on my doorstep.

I haven’t heard from her in three years.

She’s come off a horse again and this time she’s injured.

Do I want to help her learn to ride again?

Or am I going to Australia with Stadium?

Butterfly Kisses (#4)
The crowd erupts as Isaac introduces the first number, and again when he starts to sing. Intense harmonies fill the tent and saturate the crowd. Strobe lights by the stage echo the music.
Jess stands in the audience and watches him. Isaac Coleman, with smoke grey eyes, and a reputation for walking away if anyone gets too close.

Isaac, a successful musician, based in London has come back to the Coromandel to play the summer season at the beaches. Five years ago, he walked out on Jess to go to Australia and hasn’t been back since. Part of the reason he is back is to quiet some echoes from his past and also to make peace with Jess.

At first, she rejects his overtures, but eventually, drawn in by the memories of the shared past he weaves around her she agrees to be friends and to spend a month with him.

They have both changed a lot. Jess is more assertive and critical of some of the things Isaac does. And Isaac is wary of relationships and avoids any commitment. He makes it really clear their time together is temporary and after summer he is going back to his life in London.

Isaac’s band mates, Miles and Toby, point out that if Jess is going to spend the summer with them, she is going to hear the lyrics of the new songs he’s written. The songs are about their lifestyle, an endless catalogue of drinking, partying, sex and drugs. Isaac plays the songs to her; she accepts that is the way he has been living and eventually they achieve something like peace and start to enjoy their time together.

But Isaac’s resentment of Jess’s relationship with her boss when they were married, and Jess’s anger at the way he left, create a minefield.
